Just have the person you want to be a TD create an account at tourneyking.com/beta/
Have them join your league.
Then the owner or head td can promote them from a member to a TD

After making a member a TD, and having them join tourneyking how do I make them blue for inside the lobby.
Gromph, 19.02.2015, 05:43
TDs on tourneyking will automatically be blue in the lobby.

Thanks! I have forwarded to all our TDs so they can set up accounts.

Maybe this speaks to the question I just posted. What is the process for members to sign up such that we can promote them? I assume the process would be similar to what we did, but they wouldn't normally access the tourney admin page at http://www.hardwoodgames.com/tourny2/.

Thanks!

they can go directly to tourneyking.com/beta/ and signup and join your league. They will be prompted to link their tourneyking account with a hardwood user name. Be sure they use the name they want to be a TD as

Are the league members under CAses going to need to join this Tourney KING? Because to become a td they fill out an application and are approved or disapproved. Only thing hardwood does now is provide the board to post tourneys on so why would this site be making htds tds etc? Need to know how to approach this .
rookie_bagger, 19.02.2015, 12:52
If I am understanding this correctly, only TDs, or HTDs sign up for this new site because only TDs or HTD's do postings on the hw board. And the owner is the one who makes the TD or HTD.

Yes, this isn't meant to interfere with external processes such as tournament event registration under Cases or for league membership there. The functionality isn't there yet to use this site for that purpose for non-Cases tourneys, either, though potentially that might happen.

This right now only replaces the tourney board event entry system and would really only be used by TDs who create such events and players who want to know when events are scheduled. Any new features to be added will be helpful for tourneys that don't already have a system to use but can take advantage of them.

ok so do tournies have to be posted the day before? or can we add the tournies same day like we have been doing and they show up on the board like 10 minutes later.
Gromph, 19.02.2015, 17:11
tournies posted on tourneyking.com should show up in the lobby in 5 minutes. To get them to show up in the game, you may need to log off the game and back in.

So .. let's see if I understand it ... since all td's have to be a td on TK site, they will automatically have the ability to silence/kick players in hardwood? That is not good! That is an admin roll for us and not a level that all TD's should/need to have. Any way around that??
1TOPSailor, 19.02.2015, 14:42
I just did a test... unfortunately I didn't check until 30 minutes after I added it but it was showing up on the lobby's tourney board 30 minutes later after adding it. I would guess the refresh rate is similar to what it was before.
rookie_bagger, 19.02.2015, 15:56
ok ty 1top and also ty again for helping me. i had to use chrome to log in. so will use explorer to host and use chrome to post.
JonasSCE, 19.02.2015, 16:04
zc_sis, its no different than before as far as Hardwood is concerned. So the people you don't want to have TD functionality on Hardwood, you wouldn't assign TD status to here either.

But just so I understand this right, your league would benefit from a concept of a TD that can just post a tourney but not have typical TD powers of silence or kick in Hardwood. I suppose we could create a new type of Member, maybe a Tourney Assistant or TA that would only be allowed to post the info but not take actions.
zc_sis, 20.02.2015, 02:42
TD's typically only run tourneys unless they are also admin, so, yes, it would be quite beneficial to have TD status to post, but ADMIN to be purple and have "powers".
spadesbeybi, 19.02.2015, 23:32

how do u remove a td who is no longer a td but has signed up on tourney king site
Gromph, 20.02.2015, 15:59
A Head TD or Owner can demote them to a Member
rookie_bagger, 03.03.2015, 03:07
i like to host in different nics and everytime i go to link it it refuses to let me do it. instead i have to use multiple emails to sign up just to rejoin that group to become purple while i am hosting. Can you please fix it like the old board where you can add as many nics as you want.
stallions301, 06.03.2015, 10:18
I sent email earlier in week trying to make angelmarlyn head admin of stallions
I followed the laid email you sent clicked on the 3 lines on her nic and only gives option to demote to TD ?
NOT PROMOTE TO HEAD ADMIN
Larryboy1956, 06.03.2015, 14:35
Anyone who wants to TD and is approved by the league owner needs to join the league on "hardwood tourney king". Once that is done, the owner can upgrade that person's membership to TD status.
Barbara Huettmann, 20.03.2015, 16:58
I have a Td that went to registar and clicked wrong button and it says she cant redo and does not want to create a new account. what do we do ?
shygirllynn, 22.08.2016, 21:36
how do i change my td name from shygirllynn to another name in tourney king
JonasSCE, 22.08.2016, 21:53
So I believe you can only have one Hardwood name per league. So you'd need to sign in with your name you want to remove from the league, and then "quit league" in the menu at the upper right of the page.

Then sign in with the name you do want to use there, and join the league. Then a HTD or Leader needs to promote your new name to TD.
