OMG It's LIVE today?!?!?!

On the old tourney admin page I noticed this in the big blue box:

Going Live Roll Out schedule:

Hardwood Backgammon Monday 2/15/15
Hardwood Hearts Wednesday 2/18/15 ---- TODAY!
Hardwood Euchre Wednesday 2/18/15
Hardwood Spades Thursday 2/19/15

Since the events I pre-loaded in the old system were converted and loaded into Tourney King, I guess we're ok for our tourney in to the 1st week of March. Not all of our TDs have gone through the process of creating accounts yet.

These are the instructions I gave them:

a) go to https://secure.hardwoodgames.com/account/login/ and log on with your 1TOP nic and password (same as when you use the hearts client)

b) go to http://www.hardwoodgames.com/tourny2/

c) In the big blue box at the top, there is a sentence with a link that says "Then set up your tourneyking.com account here: Tourney King." Click that Tourney King link. It should take you through the process where you create your Tourney King account and link it with your 1TOP nic (make sure it's not linking you to one of your other nics).

d) When you are done and logged in at https://tourneyking.com/beta/#/home, you will see a list of events and a list of leagues. Find TOP Tournaments in the list and click the picture to the left of it and join the league. When you do this, it should add you as a TD.

Some people are saying this isn't working for them and I don't know why. They get a blank page (IE8 on WinXP if that matters). Worst case they can give me their 1TOP nic passwords and I will set them up. But the question is... will there be a cutoff when they will no longer be able to create TD nics here? There should be some way to define new TDs here after the old system is gone that hasn't been described yet, as TD turnover is a common occurrence.

Thanks!

ie8 is too old, have them try firefox, chrome, or safari. If they're still having trouble have them email us at support@tourneyking.com

TD's will need to sign up at tourneyking.com to get TD status in the lobby.

You really shouldn't be requesting passwords and setting up accounts for others.

Thanks for helping others.

Sure the manual process currently is as such....

person goes to Tourney king.com/beta.
They press "login" and then choose "signup" to make an tourney king account.

Once done, they can find a league, and press "Join group".

Since your group is part of Hardwood, they will be prompted to link their hardwood Account at that point.

Once they are a member of the group, a Owner or HTD can assign them TD status.

SO just an overview. Once they have thier TK account and Hardwood Signin names linked, they'll be able to join your league as a member, and you can then promote them.

Try sending them down that path. In fact it would be good to test.

@Gromph - I advised to the one having issues to download Chrome or Firefox and try with that and will let you know if that worked for him. Thanks for the suggestion. I work as a database administrator for a large company and know people shouldn't share passwords, but I know in IT support roles we sometimes have to ask for users passwords to reproduce issues and then advise they change them when we're done, so it's nothing new for me.

@Jonas - Your process tested out and works great! Here's the steps as I documented them:

1) Go to tourneyking.com/beta.
2) Click the “sign up” button.
3) Enter your email address and choose a password (8 char minimum).
4) Under “Game Sites”, find the button to link next to where it says “Hardwood Games” and click on the “Link” button.
5) Another page comes up saying “Link Site User for Hardwood Games”. Click “Link”.
6) The page redirects to HW’s account logon website. Enter your HW nic and password you use to log into the client and click “Log in”. Note: if you are already logged in to the right nic, proceed through. If you are logged in under a nic other than what you want to link, log off that user and log in with the desired nic.
7) You are asked “Do you want to use the name “(your nic)” on TourneyKing.com. If this is the right nic, click yes. If this is not the right nic, click “Switch User” and try again.
8) Back on TourneyKing.com, you are asked if you want to “Link HardwoodGames.com user name (your nic) to tourneyking.com”. Click “Link (your nic)”.
9) Scroll down to Leagues and click on the tourney you wish to join. If you don’t see it listed, click the three dots beneath the visible tournament list and it will expand to show the full list of leagues and then click on the tourney you wish to join.
10) The selected league page should be shown now with Members and Events. In the top right corner is a button to “Join Group”. Click “Join Group”.
